Geometry involves the use of many ratios and exponents. For example, you may already know
that the sum of the squares of the lengths of the two shortest sides of a triangle equals
the square of the length of the longest side of a triangle. Likewise, the area of a square
is the length of any side of that square multiplied by itself. Knowing how to use exponents
will greatly improve your skills in Geometry.
This video may be used as a refresher for how to work with exponents:
Exponents occur very naturally in life. For example, the growth of the
population of fish or the growth in the infection rate of a disease is initially an
exponential function.
