The sides of most Geometric shapes may be expressed as lines, written as linear equations
of a single variable. Likewise, scaling features of a Geometric shape often involves
writing the relationships between the initial and the final sizes as a linear equation.
Linear equations are taught in Algebra I, Algebra II, and many other classes, and are
essential to completing a course in Geometry.
This video may be used as a refresher for Linear Equations:
Learning to express a wide range of problems as linear equations will
substantially improve your problem solving effectiveness throughout life, and your
abiltiy to automate the solutions to problems. Scaling up a recepe for a larger group
of guests requires linear equations. Determining the proper drug dosage for a hospital
patient requires linear equations. The amount of fuel required for a particular trip
frequently requires a linear equation. And linear equations are easy to program, enabling
you to automate all of those tasks.
