In Geometry, the computation of area requires the multiplicaiton of two dimenions, with
variations for different shapes. This computation frequently results in squares of lengths,
which frequently leads to the use of Polynomials. Polynomials may be thought of as the
opposite (or inverse) mathematical operation as finding common factors.
This video may be used as a refresher for working with polynomials:
Polynomials are used in many kinds of design, such as bridges and
roller coasters. Polynomials are used in many areas of finance, such as computing
the present value of a loan. Polynomials also describe chemical equations and the
resistance of an electrical circuit. Thus, understanding polynomials is critical to
many career fields.
